A panel of distinguished authors, researchers, and nationally acclaimed scholars will meet this weekend to explore a variety of topics. At this all day event, the character and legacy of Thomas Jefferson and its meaning and effect for Americans shall be discussed and debated, with the goal of illuminating the truths and ideals of this native son president.
UVA's Jefferson Scholars Foundation has a fundamental mission statement, which seeks to identify, attract, and nurture individuals of extraordinary intellectual range and depth who possess the highest qualities of leadership, scholarship, and citizenship. The Foundation receives significant support for both the undergraduate and graduate programs from the Charlottesville community and alum.
New funds raised for the programs during the fiscal year total nearly $5 million.
